This event will feature guest speaker Dr. Sandra Kurtin, PhD, ANP-C, AOCN, FAPO who is a hematology/oncology Nurse Practitioner at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. She will be presenting an educational program on the complexities of myelofibrosis disease management.
Myelofibrosis is a rare myeloproliferative neoplasm with common manifestations including splenomegaly, anemia, and marked by constitutional symptoms such as fever, itching, night sweats, and weight loss. During the session, Dr. Kurtin will provide a comprehensive review of the myelofibrosis disease state, including an overview of the diagnostic criteria, key prognosis factors that impact patient outcomes, and an outline of the course of disease progression. In addition to this disease overview, she will share practical strategies for effective management of patients with myelofibrosis, offering valuable insights that can be directly applied in your respective clinical settings.
