Being an oncology nurse means engaging in lifelong learning. To support this endeavor, ONS offers several nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) opportunities—several of which are free for ONS members.
Our NCPD opportunities are updated often, with most course content revised and refreshed several times a year. Most importantly, all have been developed specifically for oncology nurses.
If you hold a certification from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and have taken the Individual Learning Needs Assessment (ILNA), our NCPD courses and activities include a breakdown of the specific subject areas where the NCPD contact hours can be applied. They also include how many professional development points are awarded on completion.
The Oncology Nursing Society is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Our self-paced courses cover a broad range of topics in oncology nursing and include offerings for nurses at every level working in every type of practice setting.
