To enhance outcomes for patients, oncology nurses are invited to participate in an interactive, case-based symposium, which will provide practical recommendations that can be applied to daily clinical care of patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Experts will present up-to-date clinical data with an emphasis on patient-focused care, tailoring therapy selections, and managing treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs).

MedscapeLIVE! is proud to present Enhancing Outcomes in Patients with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms: Practical Application for Nurses. This virtual event will take place THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2020 | 5:00 – 6:00 PM EDT. Participants will be awarded 1.0 contact hour of nursing continuing professional development for RNs and APNs. This activity is intended for oncology nurses and other health care professionals involved in the care of patients with MPNs.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the mechanism of action for novel and emerging MPN treatments
  • Have greater competence related to risk-stratifying patients with MPNs to tailor therapy
  • Have greater competence related to discussing the potential side effects and efficacy of MPN treatment options with patients
  • Have greater competence related to identifying and mitigating common TRAEs in patients with MPNs
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to provide key counseling points to patients with MPNs about their treatment

The goal of this activity is to improve oncology nurses' ability to differentiate among MPNs, personalize treatment options, monitor for and address TRAEs, and to provide appropriate counseling to enhance outcomes for patients with MPNs.
