An abstract is a concise summary of the work you’ve completed in a project or research study.
Projects can span from improving patient wait times in infusion rooms, to implementing an evidenced based algorithm for infusion reactions, and anything in between.
Research studies are completed by nurse researchers and those in PhD or DNP programs.
In an abstract, you include the background and purpose of the project or study, as well as your methods or interventions, findings, and a discussion of the results.
Abstracts submitted to ONS Congress® are reviewed and scored by oncology nurse peer reviewers following a specific rubric. The highest scoring abstracts will be accepted for presentation at ONS Congress as either an oral abstract project presentation, or a presentation of an electronic poster. All accepted abstracts will be published, as submitted, in the Oncology Nursing Forum.
