The 2023 ONS Congress theme is Rejuvenate, Refocus, and Revitalize–and your abstract submission may help oncology nurses generate new energy as part of this exciting conference. An abstract is a short report of a research study or project that describes your work’s significance, objectives, interventions, findings, and how those results affect practice.
ONS Congress include a tremendous line up of Power, Intensive, and other educational sessions across five tracks: Clinical Practice, Advanced Practice, Leadership/Management/Education, Research, and Radiation. In addition to that incredible content, some of the most popular sessions are the oral abstract project and ePoster presentations, where you and your colleagues can listen, view, and interact with abstract authors about a wide range of critical and impactful topics submitted by oncology nurses, for oncology nurses.
Be part of this great opportunity by submitting an abstract starting August 15–September 29, 2022, and you’ll be notified in mid-November if your abstract is selected for presentation. If your project is not yet complete, you can also submit a late-breaking abstract in the research and industry-supported (non-NCPD) categories starting December 9, 2022.
Check out the abstract submission guidelines for frequently asked questions and how to start or edit your abstract. The most successful abstracts fully address the criteria in the abstract scoring rubric for their category in the instructions, stay within the word limit, and have been carefully checked for grammar and spelling errors.
If you’ve always wanted to tackle authorship and presentations on a national level but have not taken that leap, check out the ONS mentorship program for abstract writers, which connects nurses writing their first abstract with an experienced mentor for support. Completing the application form and make this is your year to go for it!
We can’t wait to see you April 26–30, 2023, in San Antonio and hear about your work. Take the first step and start preparing your abstract today!
